Date of Assessment: 18 February 2025 to 11 March 2025. The service is a care at home service providing support to children, young people and adults. At the time of our assessment the provider was supporting 17 people. Resurgence Case Management provided highly effective and efficient case management for people with a wide variety of complex needs. People were at the centre of their support and effective solutions were found to ensure people worked towards and met their objectives. Leaders and staff worked diligently to ensure people’s needs were met in a truly holistic and person centred way. Staff and leaders genuinely cared about people, about what they did and most importantly getting it right. Leaders made sure staff received mandatory and bespoke training and regular appraisals to maintain extremely high-quality care. Staff were recruited safely and fully understood their role and responsibilities to protect people from abuse. The registered manager was extremely proactive in improving people's health and wellbeing, exploring innovative ways to support people and constantly considered new and improved initiatives. There was a very strong emphasis on the provision of activities and social stimulation which were meaningful and therapeutic and consistent with people’s goals and aspirations. Challenges were seen as opportunities and not obstacles which showed a true commitment to people.

People's experience of the service

People and relatives were extremely positive about the service and were overwhelmed by the difference staff and leaders had made to their circumstances and care. Relatives told us staff were highly trained and provided exceptional support. One relative said, “The care has been absolutely life changing. We have kept all the girls we started with [care staff on a rolling rota during the day]. Resurgence are like family. Any support we’ve needed, they’re there.” Another relative said, “They’re [staff] completely competent and well trained. They [staff] know what to do if [relative] has a seizure. They [staff] take a lot of pride in what they’re doing. I’m very happy with them.” People and their relatives felt at ease to raise concerns and were absolutely confident they would be listened to and that an appropriate resolution would be found in a timely way. One relative said, “Resurgence dealt with [a concern] really well. I can’t knock them.” People and relatives felt staff were punctual and very reliable, arriving to provide support at the agreed times. Relatives told us a dedicated team provided support and felt this offered a high level of consistency. Relatives felt involved in their family members care and were included as part of the support team. One relative said, “We were given a case manager, and we discussed what was needed and wrote a care plan together.”
