Our view of the service

We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 7 May 2025.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.
The practice had systems to manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Pemberton Dental Practice is part of Rodericks Dental Partners, a dental group provider. The practice is in Wigan in Lancashire and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was step-free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, the dental team consisted of 4 dentists, 1 dental hygienist, 8 dental nurses (including 1 trainee), 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
During the inspection we spoke with 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses (including the trainee) and the practice manager. One of the group’s compliance managers was supporting the practice.
Staff feedback forms were shared with the team ahead of the inspection, giving staff an opportunity to confidentially share their views about the practice. We received 4 responses, which were considered as part of the inspection.

People's experience of this service

Two weeks before our on-site inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any direct patient feedback.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
We reviewed online patient feedback. Patients expressed high levels of satisfaction with the treatment they received.
