During an assessment under our new approach

Date of assessment: 20 January – 13 February 2025. At the time of inspection, the home was supporting 65 people. This inspection was prompted in part by concerns about people’s safe care and whether people were safeguarded from avoidable harm following an increase in allegations of neglect made to the Care Quality Commission. We found 1 breach in regulation in relation to good governance. The provider did not always have effective governance systems in place to monitor and improve the quality and safety of the service. However, we observed people were treated with kindness, and staff respected people’s privacy and dignity. The service cared about and promoted the wellbeing of their staff. Staff told us they enjoyed their roles. Staff told us they were valued and supported in their roles; the service had a culture of seeking continuous improvement to ensure people’s needs were met. New leadership was visible, and the registered manager stated they were fully supported by the provider to champion innovation in relation to Dementia care at Sway Place. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
