Our view of the service
This inspection focused on surgical activity which took place on the lower ground and ground floor. On the lower ground floor there was one operating theatre, an anaesthetic room, two recovery bays and four day-case pods. The ground floor contained one theatre, one patient room and a three bedded recovery bay.
We undertook this unannounced focused assessment on 11 March 2025 following the Care Quality Commission receiving some information of concern relating to aspects of surgical care and treatment. This assessment looked at quality statements in the safe and well led domains for the provider’s surgical services. We found a service that was safe and well led, which had developed its strategy and delivery model since our last visit in 2023.
People's experience of this service
Due to the amount of surgical activity on the day of this unannounced visit, there was only one patient attending the service for surgery. We spoke with them as they were prepared for surgery. They told us they had researched surgeons extensively and travelled to this clinic because a particular surgeon had very good results.
The service called patients 30 days after their procedure to gather feedback on care. We reviewed four recent months of data which had response rates of between 72 and 84%, with an average of 50 to 60 patients contacted per month. Peoples’ views of the service were overwhelmingly positive.
